Dining Room Transformation

Elements left over from past decades, a too casual light fixture and stiff window coverings masked the potential of this dining room when the home was purchased.

With an eat-in kitchen pulling daily duty, clients with two young children imagined an elegant space in which to entertain family and friends.

The first task in transforming the room was to remove the built in that looked out of place, and replace the ceiling fixture with a sparkly chandelier.

To reflect light and add a hint of shine, walls were papered with silver grass cloth, and gold and silver accessories were chosen.

Drapery panels in the same color as the chairs were installed to skim the edges of the windows, while sheer blinds provide privacy.

A classic walnut table with gold striping opens to seat twelve, and comfortable chairs painted and upholstered in cream invite lingering conversation.
